The Department ofCariology andEndodontics is one of the main clinical departments of the Stomatological Hospital of Shandong University. It undertakes medicalcare, teaching,as well asscientific research and professional training.Following the excellent traditions and good medical ethics, themedical staff of the departmentdiligently, dedicatedly andstrictly regulates the clinical aseptic and painless operation, expands the clinical application fields of new technologies and new materials, and relieves the suffering of the majority of patients.Our aim and determination has always been to make positive contributions to improving people's quality of life.
The dental medicinal staffare strong and professional. There are 32 medical staff, including 5 chief physicians, 5 deputy chief physiciansand 3 attending physicians. We have1 doctoralsupervisorand 5 mastersupervisors.TheCariology and EndodontologyDepartment undertakes the training of dentistsand the standardized training of doctors.
TheCariology and EndodontologyDepartment has internationally advanced instruments and equipment. The department is equipped with German and Japanese dental chairs and equipmentandthe world's top brand mobile phones, root canal microscope, nickel-titanium motorized root canal preparation system, ultrasonic therapy device, hot tooth filling instrument, electronic root tip locator, pulp vitality tester and computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing (CAD / CAM) system to ensure the timeliness and safety of clinical treatment.
The scope of treatment of dental endodontics includes rickets, non-caries dental hard tissue diseases (tooth crack, wedge-shaped defect, tooth trauma, dentin hypersensitivity, dental developmental disease, residual root, residual crown preservation and repair, etc.) Endodontic disease, periapical periodontitis and tooth beauty (fluorosis, tetracycline teeth, deformed teeth, over-tooth restoration, etc.).
The treatment programs carried out by the department include early non-surgical treatment of rickets, filling treatment of dental caries, CAD/CAM hard tissue biology reconstruction, treatment of dental trauma, root canal treatment of endodontic diseases and periapical diseases, root canals retreatment, root canal surgery, etc. At present, the department has comprehensively carried out micro-invasive rickets, micro-invasive myelopathy and micro-invasive apical periodontitis treatment techniques. It has rich clinical experience in the treatment of teeth beauty, treatment of calcified root canal and root canal foreign body, and comprehensive treatment of periodontal-endodontic joint lesions. The quality and success rate of treatment are significantly improved, and the remaining tooth is saved for the patient. On the basis of the organization, the chewing and occlusion function of the teeth is restored, and the remaining teeth in the patient's mouth are retained to the greatest extent, and the quality of life is improved.
The department strictly implements the “three minutes before diagnosis” system, carefully and patiently listeningto the patient's medical history before the diagnosis, and comprehensively consideringthe patient's treatment according to the patient's condition.
